  • Panther Paradise Work Day

panther paradise logo The Panther Paradise Committee is looking for skilled workers who can bring their own tools to help out on three work days in June.  Work to be completed will include replacing decking, installing new play equipment, moving structure if necessary, digging, painting, and possibly reinforcing areas of the current structure.

June 19, 22, and 26 have been established as planned work days for the playground, which will also mean the playground will be completely closed during these days.  As the construction on Panther Paradise continues there may be other days that the playground will need to be closed as well.  If you are interested and available to help with these work days in June please contact Natalie Pepple in the Elementary office at npepple@nbcsd.org.

NBC Swimming Program is Back

swimming clip art Attention all kids...use this summer to learn to swim!  We believe every child should have the opportunity to learn how to swim, not only for recreational reasons but as a crucial life saving skill. This year, Northern Bedford County School District has re-instated the NBC Swimming Program at the Hershberger Pool in Martinsburg for this summer.  The program is geared toward children in grades 1-12 next school year. The cost of the program is $3 per child per day for twelve sessions, held Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:00-11:00am (starting June 18th) for a total of six weeks. Transportation will be provided by the school district at the locations stated in the Summer Recreational Schedule.
